Richard Ashenoff II
Hospitality Health Advisory Board
Richard “Rich” Ashenoff has spent his entire career in value-based care. Early in his career, Rich worked in home health where he saw the benefit patients enjoyed by receiving care in the comfort of their home. After home health he moved on to administer the former Florida Medicaid Long Term Care Managed Care Plan with a company called American Eldercare. The goal of the program was to divert eligible individuals from nursing home care, which is the most restrictive and expensive site in long-term care. Patients were assessed and placed in an appropriate level of care, depending largely on their support system. Through the administration of this program he saw first hand the importance of care navigation and what addressing social drivers of health can mean for an individual’s overall health status.
Rich has spent the last 10 years leading Memorial Healthcare System’s clinically-integrated network, Memorial Health Network (MHN), which has enjoyed immense success. In the nine previous performance years prior to his departure, MHN outperformed contractual benchmarks with commercial payor partners by over $200 million and delivered over $100 million in bonus shared savings distributions to Network providers while maintaining quality scores in the 90th percentile for the majority of tracked metrics. In 2022 Rich was appointed to lead Memorial’s newly acquired Medicare ACO, Broward Guardian which is composed of over 900 providers and manages the care of 12,000 Medicare beneficiaries. Broward Guardian participates in the MSSP Enhance track to three consecutive years of top 10 performance nationally as it relates to per beneficiary savings.
Rich is passionate about advancing value-based care and improving the overall quality and experience patients receive. He is the founder of Room2Care.com, a company that leverages the sharing economy for senior living and was named one of the top 50 innovators by AARP in 2017.
